Turkish Cypriot, Erim Hassan Metto, who was nominated by various groups in London, ran with The Olympic Torch on Saturday 21st July 2012. He covered the Walthamstow leg passing onto Fabrice Muamba, the Bolton Footballer.

Erim became the first Turkish Speaking Justice of the Peace in 1996, he was a founding member of Enfield Turkish Cypriot Association and has worked with many Turkish organisations over the years raising in excess of £4million pounds for Turkish oriented projects in the UK, Cyprus and Turkey. Erim has produced and directed 5 award winning feature films which focus on issues experienced by ethnic minorities living in the UK and acted as a community ambassador. Erim currently holds the role of Chief Executive Officer at Kentish Town partnership and also holds the role of Governor in Waltham Forest.
